Entertaining thriller in which a blackmailer sabotages attractions in amusement parks and with a preference for the roller coaster as target. A little more nail-biting thrills would have been welcome, but the long ransom-dropping scene is also satisfactory. Nice 70's thriller, but nowhere near Hitchcock. As a make-up, the Sparks will perform.

Only knew this film from the gray pan-and-scan broadcast tape that RTL regularly produced until a few years ago. Koch's excellent German Blu-ray, however, appears to contain a different film. The beautiful cinemascope cinematography by David Walsh is particularly dynamic and strikingly modern, and now that it is properly visible, the film also appears to be much better. George Segal is also very good as a heroic safety inspector and the effective direction of James Goldstone lifts this charming film above mediocrity.

3.5*

Nicely made thriller, I can't really call it a disaster film. I thought it would be fun to revisit this one, with a great story and the same cast. I think it's a bit too long and there's no real momentum, the whole thing could easily have lasted more than 90 minutes, in my opinion
