After Tenebre this morning again a who dunnit.

Sorry, but I really don't like this. They spend half an hour introducing suspects, rattling off a story full of clues, and keeping the audience guessing pointlessly... even worse is that it's dressed up in a historical context. In other words, the money went to sets and costumes. It's nice for people who enjoy this sort of thing, but I really had to fight to stay asleep.

A typical "going through the motions" film, one big cliché that too easily wallows in mediocrity. I can't think of anything positive to say, so the logical result is: 0.5*

A rather dull Korean historical thriller about a series of mysterious murders on a remote island. A detective (Cha Seung-won) is sent to solve the mystery. Solidly acted and well-made, with beautiful production design and some convincingly gory scenes, but the plot struggles to gain traction, and the sketchily developed characters remain distant.
