“Marriage! The end of spontaneous sex, traveling by yourself, and buying whatever you want without having to ask permission. Right?”

I think I should go a little less with these kinds of films because after the first 10 minutes I already know exactly how it will all go. You know when and how each seed is planted and the characters also have the standard character traits.

The loser, the playboy, the control freak, the planner and the workaholic. It is a bit predictable, but fortunately the film is also quite entertaining and the actors have a nice chemistry. Wilson didn't bother me and the film deserves all the credit for that and Dakota Johnson is a nice actress who needs to make better film choices. Just like Brie who can really do better than this. For a moment I thought the film would end with a strange "you can't be happy without a relationship" message, but fortunately the film deviates from that in a nice way.

I don't really see what people mean by 'predictable', I thought that was not too bad. I expected many things very differently.

All in all, this movie wasn't quite my thing. I never got really good at it. One moment had not yet ended when the next had already begun. I found the entire film confused and there were few moments that I really found it funny, you can count these on one hand. The message behind it is beautiful in itself, I think it also connects sufficiently with real life. That's why I don't want to give an extremely low rating, in general the setting was good, the acting performance was not to be faulted, but it just couldn't get me.

I think there was so much more to get out of this movie. The story was somewhat unique. There will certainly be more such films, but this is still a relatively unknown story to me. However, this could have been worked out much better, so it could also appeal to me. The ending was beautiful, so in the end a very tight 2.5*.

Reasonable.

Although it is somewhat strange that a film called How to Be Single is so much about relationships. And that in the end almost everyone has found someone. But hey, the film is just a Hollywood rom-com, the title doesn't really matter.

It's the comedy that keeps this film going. Apparently few Rebel Wilson fans here, I thought she was pretty much the only real comedic element in this movie. The rest is just a bit too neat and brushed off for me. Both in humor and acting.

There is also a light-hearted and reasonably happy atmosphere, despite the fact that everyone has quite a few relationship concerns. But most of the drama moments are resolved half a scene later, after which the film can continue nicely. It's not big, but it's nice for once.

2.5*
