Biography of the famous American lawyer Oliver Wendell Holmes. In 1902, 61-year-old Judge Oliver Wendell Holmes leaves his Boston home for Washington. He will serve as Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court. We see how he completed a sloppy 40 years of state service, with his wife at his side with whom he frequently exchanged thoughts about his affairs.
