Received this this week and watched it last day in the afternoon/early evening.

Silva this time as a hitman brought from America who is hired by one mafia family, but also lends himself to the other and plays them against each other.
In short: do we recognize a Eurocrime variant of A Fistul of Dollars, or -if you prefer- Yojimbo?
The film lacks the class of its two illustrious predecessors, but it is much harder, even by Italian Eurocrime standards.

Much bloodshed, especially from Silva, who lets out a sinister whistle before appearing on the upcoming battlefield and taking out his targets.
The most notorious thing about this film, however, is his dealings with ex-prostitute Bouchet, whom he beats up, takes from behind, while he pushes her lovely face into the carcass of a dead, cut-open pig hanging from the ceiling, and later in the film he works her over and over again with his belt until her face is a bloody mess. At first she seems to enjoy it, but eventually it goes too far for her too.

Quite an Italian typical Eurocrime vehicle, so all over the place, messily told, sometimes bad effects (was it the intention that you see that the dead child is just a doll, or is this an example of very bad special effects) and a lot of violent action, although the international title seems to have been chosen somewhat opportunistically, since the entire character played by Bouchet appears relatively little in it.

Still quite entertained. On to the next one: The Killer.

A seven, or 3.5 stars.

PS: Too bad about the English dub, I didn't pay attention to that beforehand or take that into account.
