Nice film about a man who has been trying to find his missing brother for almost 30 years. The plot of this action-comedy matters little. And the action scenes are often edited too quickly. But there is more than enough to laugh at the gross and exaggerated humor. Sacha Baron Cohen also plays his role amusingly. Easily 3.0 stars.

It's an elephant bukkake party!

With Sacha Baron Cohen it is always a matter of waiting to see what you get. Borat and Bruno are very funny characters (I don't really know Ali G very well), but his version of a dictator was just a boring turd. In addition, the script must also be in a good mood for the characters. Because Bruno was funny as a character, but the percentage of successful jokes in Borat was really a lot higher. In Grimsby I don't think the character of Sacha itself is very special, but the character in combination with the action hero as brother is a golden opportunity. The duo are constantly getting into the most absurd situations and I have to admit that some of those situations are very funny. You have to be able to take shit and pee jokes because jokes can't get more banal than the level in this film.

As flat as the jokes are, it has to be said that it does work. And I had to laugh a few times. Not everything is always funny, especially towards the end I was also a bit tired of it, but there are enough fun moments to keep the laughing muscles tense. So after The Dictator there is an upward trend in Cohen's work. So I'm looking forward to the comedian's next project.

Separate film for Leterrier.

Because it's 50% Leterrier, 50% Cohen. And it doesn't really mix either. One moment you're watching super banal, flat, stupid but funny humor, the next moment a pure action scene follows.

Yet it is the humor that convinces the most, where Leterrier is clearly a better action director. The elephant scene is one that is hard to forget, but a dry Strong that lends itself to some flat jokes is also very successful.

Action scenes are energetic, but lack a bit of sharpness. Especially in the editing it goes a bit wrong. A bit of chaos is absolutely not bad, but then it can be just a bit wilder and more spectacular. That said, it's certainly not bad either.

Still, the film lacks something that makes it really great. Sometimes the humor is too banal, the mix of humor and action is not connected enough and the film feels like a nice idea that has not been worked out well enough. As if there was an unreasonable deadline for this film to face.

But funny for once. Few memorable moments and scenes, but as a whole less than the individual parts.
