Atlantis plot
The novel Atlantis (1912) by Nobel Prize winner Gerhart Hauptmann was the source of inspiration for this great Danish film production. The film tells the story of Dr. Kammacher who, after his wife has gone mad, takes a boat to New York to flee his misery. On the boat he meets a dancer and falls in love. Then the boat collides with another boat, but the doctor and the dancer are rescued and arrive in New York. The doctor is in conscience - after all, he still has a wife in Europe.
