Weak movie. I'm surprised Donald Pleasence lent himself to this. There are some dirty bits in there. The acting is abysmal and everything is very cheap and unoriginal. The story is thin and just doesn't mean much. Well, I probably wasn't corny enough. But despite that it also gets a 1.5.

Meh, strange comments here, such as the Mexican actress Sonia Infante who plays the topless slave of ex-Nazi Klaus (Donald Pleasance) and in terms of appearance the feeling that she must have been a man in the past. How does one come to that view considering her appearance and all her other roles in films. Ann Sidney is also critically examined in terms of her acting performance, but the criticism that is expressed is not the responsibility of the director and writer given her dialogues and actions. Obviously not good either, but disturbing is something else. The story is quite entertaining because a lot happens, but in a very chaotic, laughable way. So we have Gringo
(Stuart Whitman) who goes looking for diamonds together with two other men. In addition, Donald Pleasance and his slave have the same quest. Then you have Dick (Clark Jarrett), Clark (Bradford Dillman) and Barbara (Ann Sidney) who are looking for oil places that would make them very rich. Somehow some of the characters happen to come together in the Amazon region, which comes across as laughable. And then there are the headhunters who provide some gore and a boss from an indigenous population who charges a tax on every export, so people cannot simply pass by. It's all fun, but not always well developed. The best scene has to be when Jairo (Jorge Luke) is left tied up and completely helpless to fend for himself against deadly crabs. Fantastic scene! The ending is also special because the viewer is surprised twice by Gringo and Barbara. John Ireland as a priest only has a small, insignificant role in the film. Good is something different, but entertaining is. And don't forget the beautiful images of flora and fauna. 6/10
