The Hotel New Hampshire plot
"If you experienced "The World According To Garp" and found it witty, delightful and totally unpredictable, then be happily surprised all over again when you join the fun and games that go on at the...Hotel New Hampshire."
Working college student Win Berry works at a hotel in Arbuthnot-by the-Sea. He experiences the summer of his life there: not only does he meet Mary, a girl from his hometown with whom he falls madly in love. He also becomes acquainted with Freud, an eccentric old man from Vienna with a huge bear as a traveling companion. Freud sells his bear to Win and advises him to get married and above all not to give up his ideals. Years later, Win and Mary are the proud parents of five children. However, the memory of that one summer is still vivid. When an old school is put up for sale, Win wants to turn it into a hotel: Hotel New Hampshire.
