Le Départ plot
19-year-old hairdresser Marc wants to participate in a rally. He just doesn't have a car and only 48 hours to find one good enough to participate with. All means are used to achieve his goal.

A solid film about a young man who desperately wants to race in the local rally. Of course you need a car for that, money, and connections. And he doesn't have any of that.
For form, he races through the streets of Brussels and the surrounding area, occasionally getting into a fight with another road user. Beautifully depicted. I had not recognized Brussels at first, but then later the image of the Palace of Justice appeared.
Atmospheric also with those jazz tunes. All pretty smoothly. Nice pick-me-up, but nothing more than that.
