Only read the spoiler if you haven't read the dark tower yet:
Is Callahan a bad guy???
Dark tower fans beware! Such a shame.
Must be a parallel world we live in....

Not much better than the original series.

Visually it looks a bit better (although the film often hangs between working and just completely kitschy color filters), but that's about it.

Lowe is really a dramatically bad actor, his voice over I work even sadder if possible. Some bit parts are nicely filled in (Callahan and Straker), the rest is not very good filling.

Three hours is just too long for a series like this. Either you throw good actors and a little more money at it, to bring the village all the way to life, but 180 minutes of this kind of cheap crap just doesn't work.

Quite a shame because the potential is there, a series like Storm of the Century still does a lot better, it just doesn't come out here. Missed opportunity (again), King has little luck with his film adaptations.

1.0*

Despite the rather long duration of the film, he didn't get bored, although it's not really a film I want to see again. He wasn't special enough for that.

It was nice that there were some references to other Stephen King films/books: for example, during the karaoke there was the song "Stand By Me" (this was filmed very well by the way) and there was a dog called "Cujo" ( also a book/film about a dangerous dog ).

What I didn't understand, that one time they called the Town Jerusalem's Lot and the other time Salem's lot

Good for once, but no more.
