In 1949, Raymond Maufrais, a young French explorer sets out on a solo expedition to the Amazon rainforest. He leaves behind a diary, an account of his journey, describing his career, his encounters and his quest for a 'pure life'. However, he also leaves behind the mystery of his own disappearance, with no solution. What happened to him?
