"Horror Will Hold You Helpless!"
England, 1685. The young Alicia Gray is accused of witchcraft and is burned at the stake. Her sister Mary (Maria Rohm) falls in love with Harry Selton (Hans Hass, Jr.), a rebel who fights against King James II. After the rebels lose, Harry is captured by the soldiers of Chief Judge Jeffreys (Christopher Lee), who must guard the crown by accusing enemies of witchcraft. When Mary is also captured, she tries to free Harry and herself by pleasing the judge.
