Another quite reasonable film in which Fulci manages to create a quite atmospheric giallo between the dance scenes.
It's just a shame that as a viewer you find out quite quickly who the murderer is, because this doesn't help the mystery.
For a change, a less bloody Fulci and he gets away with it fairly well.
Not exactly a classic of the genre, but not a bad watch for Fulci/Italian sleaze fans.

Fulci goes Flashdance, all with a loud Keith Emmerson soundtrack and a budget you couldn't even make an 80s MTV music video with. It's not entirely impossible that Fulci had a more modern version of Suspiria in mind, but after the commercial flop of "The New York Ripper," it was basically over for Fulci. There's no gore, and a dead canary is pretty much the most shocking thing in the film. It almost falls short of a complete failure thanks to the utterly fucked-up plot and the boobs.

A surprising whodunit from Lucio Fulci, where the focus is more on atmosphere and unmasking the perpetrator than on gore. The kills are rather mediocre in execution, but the buildup to the murder and the good camerawork are definite pluses. The location of a dance academy makes for some fun dance scenes to the typical 80s music in tight aerobics outfits. Naturally, there's also some female nudity in this unusual giallo. Decent, but nothing more. 6/10
