Papa's Song plot

Amsterdam judge Nico Venema (Rene van Asten) dearly loves his wife, the Antillean Shirley Zaandam (Romana Vrede). Together they raise the two sons of Shirley's sister Magda, because their situation on Curaçao was untenable. When Magda comes to the Netherlands to pick up her children, Nico finds herself in a family battle full of secrets, reproaches and riddles. He comes to the painful discovery that he knows his wife only superficially. Shirley appears to share a violent past with Magda in which murder plays a central role. Nico must decide whether to report or forgive his wife.
