A Song to Remember plot
"As long as the world loves a lover…this romance will live!"
At a young age, the Polish boy Frederic Chopin composes his own pieces. Together with his music teacher Joseph Elsner, the virtuoso pianist flees troubled Poland and goes to France to pursue a career there. Chopin, who has left his betrothed behind, comes into contact with the infamous writer George Sand in Paris and falls in love with her. Even when everyone starts to doubt Chopin's talent, she continues to believe in it. When Elsner reminds Chopin of his homeland's struggle for freedom, he goes on tour to raise money for the Polish cause. Although he is very weakened by tuberculosis, he continues to perform in concert.
