''Hey, ass-monkey. Eat this!''

A (predictably) laughably bad creature horror. Of course bad acting, illogical actions and butt effects were part of it.

That creature was a cross between Cousin It from The Adams Familyand Chewbacca from Star Wars. The presence of a few beautiful babes is part of such films. Eventually, each one of them is used as a scratch board for that creature. I have to say that there was one part that - if you turn your volume up to 20 - will scare you. It did have a little 'horror moment'.

And then another 4 minute appearance of Lance H., you could just say 'hello', before immediately saying 'hello, Lance'. Well used to him, he also appears in Mimic 3 and then The Untold(also about Jeti/Bigfoot/Sasquatch). In short: in recent years it has done well among third-tier horrors.

A nice ending, what the police found then.

Rear Window meets Bigfoot

Ryan Schifrin is a Hitchcock fan, it is clear from the first 45 minutes, but it could have been done a lot better and in a different genre.

The film is actually simply Abominable, the plot, the characters and the monster are too stupid for words. The only reason why this film is still watchable are the camios of Jeffrey Combs, Lance Henriksen, Rex Linn and Paul Gleason, among others, although that is actually no reason either.

In the horror genre there are many, many bad films, that has always been the case, perhaps more than in other genres, but this is one of the worst I have ever seen.

A reasonable horror film directed by Ryan Schifrin. Better known as the son of composer Lalo Schifrin, who also composed the music for this film. For lead actor Matt McCoy, this was his second Bigfoot film after Bigfoot: The Unforgettable Encounter. McCoy is joined by Christien Tinsley, who grew his mustache and shaved the back of his head. Rex Linn accepted the role of Farmer Hoss. This was on the condition that he could play the monster himself in one scene. We also see Paul Gleason appear in one of his last films. His role is not that big, but in a certain scene there is remarkably enough a quote that refers to one of his better-known films The Breakfast Club refers. The rest of the cast includes Haley Joel, Jeffrey Combs, Lance Henriksen and a pregnant Tiffany Shepis. The recordings were plagued by several snowstorms. The production crew regularly had to go inside to film interior scenes before the snowstorm subsided. The sound for Bigfoot's breathing came from a panting horse. This sound effect was slowed down considerably.

With a limited budget, this Bigfoot film still manages to hold its own quite well. The script is average, but the basic plot and cinematography are compelling. Not a masterpiece in its genre, but entertaining nonetheless.

2.5 *
