Ellie is a young mother who has recently been separated from her untrustworthy and selfish husband. But her love for her 7-year-old daughter Autumn keeps Ellie going. She also has the full support of her best friend and employer Una and Sid, who considers herself her protector. Both try to help her find a new man. Especially Una's handsome friend Jesse, a doctor, does not leave Ellie cold. Her life seems to be moving in the right direction again. Only the unannounced visits of her drunken and aggressive ex-husband cast a shadow over her happiness.
