North Shore plot
Rick Kane from the desert state of Arizona wins a 14-day flight to Hawaii. There, Australians Alex and Occy impress him with their surfing skills, and he wants to learn that too. When he dives into the surf with a pleasure board, he collides with top surfer Vince. They are rescued, but the Hawaiians are annoyed by such an amateur and even more so when they discover that he is in love with Vince's niece. With Chandler's help, he learns the sport.
