Not seeing the forest for the trees

This horror's low average wasn't exactly a lie, but in the absence of better titles (that I hadn't seen yet) for my Netflix horror night, my curiosity finally won out over 4.8 on IMDB.

Maybe it was because I kept my expectations very low, because I still managed to enjoy myself with this. In particular, I didn't even think the story was very bad and the ending of the film was even strong. It's just a shame about the lousy execution.. I hope there are film makers who will see the potential of the setting of the Aokigahara forest and make a better attempt in the coming years.

In particular, the film misses the mark with its cheap scare effects, the cheap computer animations of ghosts, and moments that are so obvious that you really wonder what the director's level is. A good example is when the main character slits her own wrist while in a hallucination. As if one didn't see this immediately, this also had to be shown by means of a flashback.

Although it wasn't all that great, I expected the viewing experience to be even lower than a 5, but fortunately that was not too bad, although I can still advise every non-die-hard horror fan to make a better choice of film

2.5*

Watched it despite the bad reviews. Wanted to have a good scare again with a horror movie. Well, this movie doesn't live up to that at all. The subject of the suicide forest has so much potential, they could have made something really cool out of it.

This film is long-winded, you can see everything coming from miles away. No, skip this one.

Not special.

Not the best horror film around a very interesting subject. The Suicide Forest has always fascinated me, but in this film it's not too exciting and worked out brilliantly, especially because little attention has been paid to the mystery itself.

Instead, we get a bit of a 13 in a dozen horror movie but set in Japan's suicide forest. The story could go on with it and Dormer's acting isn't bad, but towards the end the story is very ridiculous.

The beginning is still atmospheric here and there, but the director makes far too many stupid and illogical decisions with his film, with which you can only laugh at his badness at a given moment.

Points for the atmosphere and location, and Dormer's acting. Then you've had it a bit here.
