June 1927. Paul Krantz and Günther Scheller are about to take their final exams. Both boys expect a lot from life: they want to enjoy life to the fullest and without compromise, and they desire the same from love. When their "suicide club" was founded, they swore to each other to end it as soon as there was no love left in their lives. Together with Günther's sister Hilde, they spend a weekend in the Schellers' country residence. Paul falls in love with Hilde and it looks like it's mutual. But Hilde is a coveted girl, and during a party at the mansion she goes to bed with Hans, who once dated her brother. Paul is very disappointed and Günther is equally disappointed, because he was secretly in love with his friend. The party gets out of hand, and will lead to far-reaching consequences...
