Pleasure Island plot

"Out of the war onto the battlefield"

After years in the army abroad, Dean, a mysterious man, returns to his hometown. His father in particular, a fervent pigeon fancier, is hostile towards him. Dean confesses his secret to his childhood friend Jess and learns that she is having a hard time dealing with her husband's death. She has to take care of her child, with too little financial means.
