A very young Wings Hauser, cool!!

Nice 80s B-monster movie. Interesting characters, good mix of Redneck-sploitation, toxic waste and mutant/zombie genres! Suspense is well constructed, it remains exciting until the end. The denouement is surprisingly surprising and is well worked out.

All in all a delicious popcorn 'n beer scareflick for the saturday night!

I was unpleasantly surprised when I thought I had bought Mutant, but it turned out to be this one. Fortunately, this plot also sounds not bad. Unfortunately, the execution is not special.

The film starts off pretty well with aggressive rednecks harassing the two brothers. The unfriendly atmosphere in the town is palpable, especially when the sheriff also looks rather lax. Lead actor Hauser acts adequately and his co-star is also worth watching. What the film lacks in are the things that often make 80s horrors so much fun; big buckets of gore, cheesiness and nonsense.

No bad characters, bad one-liners or over the top gore. There is almost no gore at all, just some yellow sludge dripping from the zombies. For example, some people fall into a pit of chemical waste, but nothing is shown at all. The zombie make-up is disappointing and they also make the sound of a Godzilla giving birth to triplets. A few memorable deaths would not have been out of place in this movie, and would have been necessary to rise above the average. It also all lasts a bit too long.

Extremely entertaining `infested` flick. The tension is built up excellently and the acting, okay not special, but good enough. Soundtrack fits it perfectly. A few very nice scenes and fortunately no one is safe in this film. I enjoyed it immensely!
