Very enjoyable film, which more or less predicts the good of Versus. The plot is therefore and only serves for the setup in the abandoned village. Furthermore, the film is all gunplay, with freaky characters and a nice light tone.

Some nice shots, very peculiar music, comic note and a few cool gunsoots make this movie a nice viewing experience. Not a classic, not 5*, but just a nice snack.

3.5*

Director Ryûhei Kitamura's career began with this short film about a continuous shooting. Today, he could create a great piece of entertainment with it, but Heat After Dark is much older and especially looser and less energetic than his later projects. The acting is nevertheless fun and certain action moments look good, but these cannot hide the fact that the film becomes boring after a while. As a result, the rather short running time is still a challenge to get through and the rating drops considerably.
