Big trash.

Mardi Gras Massacre is a pretty lame movie actually. But this film still had something. In the documentary Video Nasties: Moral Panic, Censorship & Videotape (2010), Marc Morris warned us that you often have scenes that move from scene to scene flying. And that's right. This is very disturbing. The camera work doesn't look good at all. But with these types of pulp films I take that for granted. The murders may not look very good, but the way the strange killer does it is cruel. The story is laughable and the premise is perhaps a little bit flawed. But I don't mind this so much. I still had a good time with it. All nice and cheesy too. My friend (where I saw this movie) bought this movie on this site: Buy Mardi Gras Massacre DVD - Classic Movie DVDs - shop .tcm.com

I should do that soon. 3.5.

Tough sit.
If a man has to be the producer, cameraman and director of the film, that is usually a sign that it will be very low budget in any case.
The plot is somewhat reminiscent of Blood Feast, but the effect is much more boring.
The acting is not very good (to put it mildly) and the scenes are often shot from a camera angle. It is surprising that on screen you can see how the murderer rips out the heart (probably a hunk of meat from the local butcher).
The way he carries out his sacrifices is just a bit monotonous.
You can still laugh every now and then at the cheesy conversations, but this 'Mardi Gras Massacre' doesn't offer more than that.
