Three criminals escape from prison and hide in the house of a black priest. One of the mobsters has a crush on the priest's pretty daughter and when he wants to rape her, the priest vows to kill them all.

Very racist, brutal, and violent film in the style of I Spit On Your Grave, Death Weekend, etc. I found the child murder particularly shocking. The whole story has enough pace to keep you engaged, and the expected ending is impressive, with the gunshot to the throat as the climax.

Weak exploitation film.
I had expected a brutal movie, but I got something that made absolutely no impression on me. It starts with the clumsy escape from the van. The three criminals are fairly well cast, although I found Kane to be a truly awful guy with his ugly face. The grandma and the little boy were incredibly annoying, and the priest was anything but tough. The film builds up slowly and tries to incorporate some side stories and background tales, but who gives a fuck? After an hour comes the rape, which is immediately the biggest letdown of the film.
You just have to assume she was raped, after all, because you don't get to see anything. The shortest and lousy rape scene I have seen in this genre. Maybe the film manages to save itself for some solid revenge, but that was unbelievable and not creative at all. The scenes where people are overpowered are childish charades.
The film does have a decent soundtrack, although the sound is absolutely terrible at times in these old clips. There are a few nice moments here and there, but as an R&R movie, it fails.

Revised on DVD from Blue Underground. The OCNs were lost during a hurricane years ago, so this is the best available unless OCNs turn up somewhere else. The DVD is otherwise perfectly watchable; the picture quality is certainly not bad.
A Section 1 banned video nasty, not so much for the gore scenes but for the ultra-racist undertone towards the religious little family. The story otherwise doesn't have much substance other than a home invasion/revenge thriller. William Sanderson delivers a strong performance in his film debut as a foul-mouthed racist hostage. I had a grin on my face a few times when watching the son and the grandmother. The running time is just right and shouldn't have been any longer.
