Bigger Than James Dean plot
Amsterdam, 1996: 24-year-old Christiaan Röllich has only one goal in mind: to break through as an actor in the American film world. He will be the next James Dean, he predicts, no, bigger still. He is willing to give up everything for it, even his relationship. After all, applause is better than sex, he claims. Five years later, Christiaan is the proud owner of a beautiful car, but his acting career is not going well. He regularly auditions, but his most significant achievement to date is standing in for Brad Pitt in Ocean's Eleven. His ideals have been adjusted ('Jack Nicolson also took ten years') but his optimism is unbroken. Even if two years later his newlyweds became seriously ill.
