"Book into Neil Simon's Hotel Suite for the time of your life"
The venue is suite 719 of the New York Plaza Hotel. In the first segment, Matthau is half of a married couple whose marriage is on the rocks. In number two, the sardonic grumbler is a three-time divorced Hollywood producer looking for a new fling. And in the last segment, he is the father of an almost married daughter. However, the bride-to-be gets cold feet and locks herself in the bathroom of suite 719.
