One Point O plot

"Are you infected?"

Computer programmer Simon J spends his days in a drab apartment, working in seclusion behind his monitor. But then, inexplicably, a mysterious box suddenly appears in his home. The boxes keep popping up and Simon really doesn't know who they came from, let alone how they got into his apartment. Are they from his strange neighbor who is into S&M movies, or are they from his other neighbor, a scientist obsessively working on a robot with a baby head? Or do they come from the beautiful but dangerously frustrated Trish who can kill him for love? The truth reveals itself as a nightmare that Simon wants to wake up from as soon as possible.

Intriguing mystery thriller, which puts you in a setting and atmosphere from the very first scene that will never go away. Oppressive, dark, strange. You have to love it, I find it fascinating. What is happening and why?

Although the atmosphere is maintained throughout the film, it seems more concerned with keeping it as mysterious as possible (put some oddball characters around the main character), rather than unfurling the plot in a powerful way. There are also quite a few hiccups along the way.

The idea is good, the effect in terms of tension less so. The film must have a high mysterious quality. Category a bit strange, but tasty.

Tried this one and thought it was an intriguing film. I didn't know what to expect, but the movie wasn't disappointing. I was curious how the film was going to evolve. The ending was a bit surprising and left me a bit disappointed.

I thought the cast was a bit variable, for example the police inspectors seemed very B-movie.

Not a bad movie.

Stays well.

A film that has completely disappeared and will probably never resurface before the 00s get around to a retro reappraisal. Not that bad in itself, because the film has actually barely aged. That's the advantage of films that don't rely so heavily on CG.

You've got to love the retro sci-fi vibe in this movie. On the one hand it is about androids and nano-bacteria, on the other hand everyone still has an old rotary telephone and CRT monitors. It fits with the dead world in which this film takes place.

Visually very attractive, with an emphatic use of color and camera work. The soundtrack is also quite impressive. Actors also do well, although they don't have much work in these types of films, it is mainly the stylization that conveys the feeling of paranoia.

The only pity is that the DVD releases of this film are of poor quality. HD upgrade would certainly benefit the film.

4.0* and a extensive review
