The description above is incorrect, it is from ju-on:the grudge 2. and it only lasts 50 minutes or so.

A somewhat entertaining film at times, especially in that school. otherwise a very vague story, which of course is played in the wrong order. the acting was mediocre, and the camera work was bad, ugly images, but I think it was a low-budget film. *2.5

It might have been a nice assignment at the time to make a fan film out of it. Because you can easily fit parts 1 and 2 into a fascinating 90 minutes. The first half hour(!) is, as has been indicated more than once here, simply a recap of the first part. If you saw it two days earlier, that's not really necessary. In any case, he would have been better off choosing to merge the two and focus on the most powerful scenes of both films. Because there are still some effective scares and especially when the scenes become a bit darker, it's not that bad. The home video look will of course still be an issue here, but it should not pose a problem. Anyone who looks further than that is left with a thoroughly enjoyable but short J-horror. On to the next!

The sequel to the first part was released within the same year and director Takashi Shimizu also took over the direction. After all, he knows better than anyone what his own universe should look like and that is why you would think this is a wise choice, but unfortunately nothing could be further from the truth. The first half hour is a verbatim repeat of the previous part, which means that almost half of this film is copied. In my opinion, a lazy and downright shameless choice, especially when you consider that the first part is not much longer than an hour. The horror scenes in this second part are also a lot more trivial and often silly. Kayako looks considerably less menacing, the structure significantly messier and Toshio as a co-antagonist downright repulsive. In between there are some decent scares that set the tone for the series, but by the time the first notable horror moments came, my irritation had long boiled over.
