Vibrator plot
Rei Hayakawa, a freelance writer, hears voices in her head. Voices like her mother admonishing her, her gossiping school friends and also her true feelings that she cannot express. The voices worry her, keep her from sleeping, turn her into a alcoholic and cause eating disorders. One evening she meets a truck driver in a grocery store. The voices tell her to stay with him. She goes out with him and in his company the voices seem to disappear.
