Her evil stepmom makes beautiful Cinderella do all kinds of nasty chores around the house while her two stepsisters get themselves ready for the big prom. A Black Cinderella. In the 70s they could have made a nice blaxploitation out of it. As for the film you can expect what you can actually expect. Not too much, but in the end it is not a dragon of a film. Goldberg carries the film together with the costumes and sets. 2.0tje.

Terribly cheap film. Definitely made on a small budget, but also with a lot of amateurism. It is boring at many moments and the songs are too many. Playing with the different races also makes no sense. The queen is dark, the father white, but they squeezed an Asian child out of it. How so? Cinderella's stepsisters are also black and white, which can't be right if they have the same mother, but that is not explained anywhere. Also the foot that has to be found with the slipper (looked like plastic) doesn't seem that difficult to me, because the prince knows very well that it was a black woman he met during the party. Why then have white girls try it on? Also made no sense.
The only thing the film has going for it is Whitney Houston's voice, which is pleasant.
