Powerful millionaire Zachariah suspects his wife Eve has a lover. He hires private detective Michael Nash to shadow her. At first sight a simple job. Nash discovers that Eve is not her lover, but often spends time with her ailing mother to care for her, that she likes a drink and that she likes to swim in the nude. One day Eve makes a suicide attempt. Nash saves her. They fall in love and start an affair. When Zachariah is killed, Nash is suspect number 1.
