Amazingly atmospheric with those strange occult rituals and the continuous cityscape full of garbage bags. There's even some successful gore here and there. It's just such a shame that all the clichés of American horror classics had to be followed. Now it is automatically placed in the shadow of instead of getting its own face. In that sense, an Alex van Warmerdam knows how to get more out of his horror settings.

There are a few ridiculous scenes in it, especially the one with the inflatable boat (Monique's lung capacity is exceptional) and the bread knife (a socket would have made more sense than this MacGyver action), but this film is so atmospheric !

How terrible.

Nederhorror, a concept that some of us may know. The description is therefore fairly obvious. I can be brief about it, not everything is broken, but none have really convinced me very much. I believe a six was the highest number.

This film is in any case one of the lesser among the nederhorror. I had never heard of it before the KO. And it soon became clear why. This lasted for a very long time in my opinion and never got a little interesting.

I'm already not enthusiastic about Dutch acting. But this is even a level below that. It almost seemed to come from Asia at times. It was so terribly theatrical at times. No one exceeds a little normal acting level.

The film is very tiring, considering that it is only 96 minutes long. Visually very ugly. Poor shot and poor quality. Looked straight out of the 60's. The "dreams" are also mostly clumsy and have a swearing use of color.

Bad camera work and no real tension. The course of the film is confusing. Sometimes scenes seem to come out of nowhere and add little else. The relationship between mother and daughter is laughable, sometimes way too theatrical.

However, the film also has some decent moments. The soundtrack is strong at times and in the final phase there may also be some blood flow. For the rest there is not much to it unfortunately. No tension, no atmosphere, no decent acting. So the number is there. And I still feel generous.
