Mmm, I'll raise it by 0.5.

I saw To Kill With Intrigue recently. This film is essentially one of those standard "revenge" movies that were made almost every year in Hong Kong, China. Chan was also locked into a contract with the director. The picture quality on my DVD was abysmal, truly awful. The colors were washed out. You can add up all the scratches, spots, and damage, but after a century, you're still not finished. The sound quality was also abysmal.

The English dub too. Especially at the end when Chan's voice was weird .

I did like the music and, of course, the fights. The Chinese style and setting are also good. And Chan, of course. Otherwise, it's a typical Lo Wei movie, despite the visuals/dubbing and sound quality. I give it a 3.5.

Revisited in 4K from 88Films with Dolby Vision.

A story of doomed love and betrayal, which begins with the murder of Lei Shao-feng's (Jackie Chan) parents. Ding Can-ren (Hsu Feng), leader of the Killer Bee Clan, is responsible. When Lei Shao, presumed dead, launches a surprise attack, she reveals that his father murdered her parents and gave her a facial scar as a souvenir. They spare each other, and a love-hate relationship develops, in which she falls hopelessly in love. However, Lei Shao is only interested in his pregnant girlfriend, Chin Chin, whom he rudely sent away before the attack on his house to spare her. A good friend, Jin-chuan, was supposed to take her in and explain everything. However, he has very different plans and betrays their friendship to take control of the region.

The fourth collaboration with Lo Wei, filmed in South Korea, is another of Jackie's less beloved films, with frustration between him and the director and a performance in very cold weather. Despite everything, you can see him really putting in the effort and pushing Lo Wei to create his own style. Some highlights include the opening attack on the house, the fight against the three Bloody Rain members, and the fight in the woods, where Jackie reveals himself to be the Fifth Dragon. The final battle has poor fight choreography, where Jackie is kicked backward by the same kick six times in a row.

Yu Ling Lung's (Chin Chin) name had to be changed in Japan because it means penis. She only appeared in two films, both with Jackie: this one and The Killer Meteors.

A mediocre film that is only recommended for the real die-hard Jackie Chan fans who also appreciate his older work.
