"She's a cop on a deadly case. Who fell in love with a wonderful man. Who may be the killer she seeks."

Maria Quinn is the product of a good upbringing, attended the best schools and enjoys a fine career with the New York Police Department. For some time now, she has been the new partner of Vinnie Cusack, whose vast experience makes her the best detective in town. Maria has been tasked with investigating the murder of drug lord Carlos Gallanter. As it appears, Gallanter was ambushed and killed by an injection filled with pure heroin during a big party.
