Forgotten or abandoned? Eighties high school slasher that is little less than peers such as Prom Night (1980), Graduation Day (1981) or Slaughter High (1986) ... but actually rarely in those top lists for comes. New life given by Vinegar Syndrome with another beautiful 4K scan as a result. A 'genre oddity', hovering somewhere between the real genre work and a comedy that plays with the most beloved 'tropes'. Some bizarre characters such as the principal and the janitor are of course completely over the top, but in the meantime there is a very young Brad Clitt in his first leading role for a feature film, doing his stinking best to make something out of it. For fans of the better cult work / colorful 80's high school slashers with a very present and also very cheesy soundtrack; you can have fun with Cutting Class.

Brad Pitt in one of his first film roles and a few strange characters still manage to attract attention, but the whole is a bit lackluster and nowhere exciting. Nice are some very strange characters such as Roddy McDowall as Mr Dante, Robert Glaudini as the school cleaner, Nancy Fish as Mrs. Knocht and Donovan Leitch Jr. as Brian Woods. 5/10

Eighties slasher with decent camp/cult quality. Brad Pitt as a world star in the making ... has to start somewhere, of course. I'm not particularly a fan of his, but he does play the annoying and sporty all American college boy just fine here. Nice love triangle with the creepy Donovan Leitch and sexy Jill Schoelen (she sounds very hoarse in this movie too).

The scenario should of course be taken with a grain of salt. The chases in the school building (where the fire doors are illegally locked - happens in more films), the crazy janitor, a completely wrong teaching corps ... And then there is the wonderful running gag with [spoiler ]Jill Schoelen's dad … black comedy at its best. The gaudy gore is fine, the murders are creative. And there is a great soundtrack by Andy Prieboy that completely contributes to the eighties / new wave atmosphere. I had a great time with this.
