Cien Años de Perdón plot

"Who can you trust?"

On a rainy morning, six men in Valencia rob the headquarters of a bank. What initially appears to be a carefully planned and simple bank robbery turns out to be very different when the tunnels they've dug are flooded by the rain. The security guards also appear not to have been bribed, so that the gang members no longer trust each other and the robbery threatens to go completely wrong.

For a Spanish film with Luis Tosar, this one feels rather poor, miles away from films like Celda 211 (2009). It is a (moderate) commercial production with many clichés and open doors. The Argentinian background of the robbers is more annoying than adding anything, the Argentinians are portrayed as enormous stereotypes. The story sounded good, and if the film manages to grab you it might be nice, but in my case the tension didn't even get off the ground, it all looked terribly fake. 2*.

It was difficult to keep focus. The talk all moves very quickly, as is often the case with Spanish-language films, but I only had English subs and sometimes it went a bit too fast. Maybe that's why I missed some of the 'intrigue', but something tells me it was also relatively straightforward and cliché. Ditto the tensions within the crooks club. I was hoping for a nice viewer, but that didn't work.
