"New York's hottest eatery is going to have a killer night."
In trendy New York City TriBeCa, restaurateur and gambling boss Louis is looking for his partner's killer. Things are not going well between him and his son Udo, the talented chef, who has big plans for the restaurant. Udo and his sous chef Duncan compete for the love of the sexy Nicole. This evening, Louis is confronted by two base criminals, who try to rip him off his gambling business and restaurant. When the regulars trickle in one by one, the tension continues to rise. When Louis decides to hand the case over to Udo, the evening comes to a dramatic climax according to the old recipe, revenge.

Energetic, excellently directed film that takes place during a busy and - for various reasons - chaotic evening in a trendy New York restaurant. The always reliable Danny Aiello is the owner of the restaurant who tries to prevent two mafioso, who are probably responsible for the death of his partner, from not only taking away his bookmaking business but also his restaurant. The film pleasantly interweaves this with the troubles in the kitchen and around the guests, including an art critic, a restaurant critic and a variety of guests with their everyday worries. Bob Giraldi, who ran a restaurant himself, knows the ropes and that results in an exciting, realistic, sharply edited and very entertaining drama. The wonderful jazzy score fits in perfectly with this.

Good film about a man who owns a restaurant where his son is the chef. The film takes place during a busy evening in the restaurant. Partly because of the many characters, the film remains entertaining and the pace also adapts to the hectic atmosphere of the restaurant. The characters come out well (also thanks to excellent casting and good acting).
