Stranger in the House plot

"When the lights go out... the terror begins."

While Viviane is visiting her daughter Joanna, two burglars break into her house. However, she had forgotten something, goes back inside and catches the crooks. A fight ensues with one of them in which both Viviane and the thief are killed. Four months later, Joanna wants to spend one last weekend at her mother's house before it is sold. With their family business nearly bankrupt from gambling debts, this is the chance for Dan, her husband, to kill her, take the inheritance and continue his life with his mistress.
