Sometimes I don't understand the crowd at all. Turbulence has everything that should make a popcorn movie popular and it ended up being both a commercial and critical failure? Why exactly? Was there not enough (good) action present? Wasn't the serial killer (Liotta) convincingly psychopathic enough? Wasn't Lauren Holly the attractive, increasingly clothes-losing heroine we should be seeing? Isn't the concept of a runaway plane interesting?

For me personally the film worked fine and all the questions I ask above I answer in the negative. The action was good and adequate, Liotta was a delightful psychopath, Lauren Holly was attractive and the concept of a runaway plane is never boring.

The best part of the film is actually the moment when it's not clear to the viewer whether Weaver is crazy or not. Nothing deep or pompous, but Turbulence does exactly what it's supposed to do: entertain .

Pretty mediocre, predictable and unbelievable film.

Example:

At a certain point you see those bullets fall to the ground and you already know, someone is going to pick up a bullet from them, take that gun from the cabin and then shoot someone. And that happens of course also.

When Lauren and Ray are in a fight/chase. That plane will suddenly fly upside down and then straight again. Sure...

That's how I got annoyed several times. In one way or another, the film manages to be exciting at certain moments, while you already know how it will end. The special effects are also bad, but yeah 1997....

I once felt like watching a no-brainer movie that wasn't too long and so I watched this one and got exactly what I expected.

Not a bad movie, but definitely not a wow movie either. I was entertained for the 100 min and the cast was not too bad. Ray Liotta in particular stole show in the film as the villain.

For a moment I thought they had gone too far by turning the plane 360°, but when I watched the making-off, this has already happened twice in real life.

All in all a nice video that is worth watching if you don't expect too much.
