Lisa, Lisa plot

"At Last... Total Terror!"

Three thugs on the run arrive at the house of young Lisa and her grandfather and want to stay there, because the police are looking for them. The three decide to abuse Lisa, who at first glance appears to be innocent. One of the many video nasties and a typical rape & revenge film in terms of story. One that is a bit tame and in my opinion compared to the rest. You don't see much of the murders and I didn't really get a feeling of 'victory' or 'justice' or the like.

The film has a rather slow build-up to the conflict (40 minutes..). In the meantime, we follow three criminals who have little regard for society and little sympathy for others. Also

When things get 'loose' it becomes interesting and there is a moment in it that is chilling in concept (e.g. that soup that is served). Unfortunately, this is depicted with so little emotion that you can hardly do anything with it. It seems like the main character doesn't care (which is consistent with the other characters). This works for some, but not for me. 2*

However, the story and design offer sufficient opportunities to make something fun out of it, but in the end it became a boring episode with few fun scenes. 4/10

It was his debut film for director Frederick Friedel. In fact, his first day of shooting was his first day on a film set. Fortunately, he was able to be assisted by the experienced DoP Austin McKinney, who would even make films with James Cameron later in his career. He is perhaps the greatest talent to have worked on the film. The lack of dialogue and accumulation of apparent trivialities is also due to the lack of a screenplay. And the fact that the film was intended for a drive-in audience that didn't need any character drawing. And then the lead actor Leslie Lee was not in the mood for much dialogue. Just to say which production and coincidental factors were involved. Friedel then spread out a few more scenes to extend the duration of the already short episode. It really exudes low budget on all sides. Gore fans will be disappointed by what little there is to see. But in terms of atmosphere I think it's not too bad. Also thanks to the sometimes beautiful score that forms a counterpoint to the cold relationships.
