My daughters are now old enough to watch these movies and so Dad happily watches (if he has time). It is very nice to see them experience the film; what you especially notice that they dodge in the scenes where Snow White runs through the forest or when the evil queen turns into an ugly witch. I must have seen this movie countless times, although I don't know if we had this on video. Now I look at this film with completely different eyes. I can still enjoy the story, but now the appreciation has also come for the animations, the carefully written and performed music and a lot of details. I wouldn't call it completely timeless either. The voices in particular feel old-fashioned. Words are used that you don't hear much in the Netherlands these days (although it remains cool when the queen calls "SILENCE").

It's amazing how Disney takes eighty minutes for a story and keeps it captivating every second. The middle section in particular has scenes that you could consider filling, but everything flows into each other very organically. It's also a movie that takes its audience seriously. It's not nearly as dark as fairy tales were original. Walt Disney deserves credit for this. At the same time, those exciting scenes are definitely there. All the important emotions are covered here and I think that's very good.

What a beautiful movie.

And then from that time.

The humor is still fun and the tension is still there.

DVD bought for 0.50 cents at a thrift store.

We enjoyed the movie. Saw it once as a kid, but many years later still a great movie.

Quite a scary story for the little ones. The witch and her big eyes made an impression in the past and still do today.
