The annoying thing about this movie is that it takes a long time for Linda Blair to embark on the path of revenge. And even then there is disappointment. Once on the path, she's off in no time. Way too short. And that's a shame, because Blair's revenge is the most fun part of the movie.

Before we get there, we struggle through layers of bad acting and layers of bad drama. A very moving story in which Blair (type of rough shell) driven to the extreme sees no other way out than sweet revenge.

In drama, the acting skills must be of such a nature that one can really empathize. Outrage at injustice. Sympathize with the weak. Fear of the bullies. Immersion in the story. But yes, that doesn't work. Linda Blair in particular turns out not to be a best actress. She is not convincing at all. She is not alone in this, by the way. Actually, no character convinces. Weak acting, hollow characters and a far-fetched piece of drama don't exactly inspire much empathy with anyone.

Working towards the final is dramatic in every way. Hard to get through. Fortunately, there are some salient events that give you a boost. A silly brawl here and a tasty bit of nudity there. And go, back to class. On the way to the final.

It's nice that Blair felt called to take action. She was, of course, tired of hanging out in that flat and badly played out drama. He was also yearning for some tension and some murder work. Nice final. Nice kills. Well portrayed. And way too short of course.

Remarkable: I couldn't place the horror label attached to the film anywhere afterwards.

Cult film that I have missed somewhere in the past, but now finally watched it. However, the film failed to live up to expectations given its revenge theme. It is all presented quite obediently and the act of revenge itself lags behind for too long. Expect some harder scenes and especially more action. Incidentally, the revenge action is usually not really clear and filmed too dark. The acting is poor and there is no tension at all because the course of the film seems very predictable. Nice to see, but no more than that. 6/10

Speaking of exploitation. Simple revenge story. Linda Blair plays the bad-mouthed bad girl with a gingerbread heart. And she stands up for her deaf sister Linnea Quigley. In hindsight I think their characters represent 2 sides. It becomes very clear when Linda Blair, dressed in black leather, takes on her duty as an avenging angel. Linnea, on the other hand, represents innocence, light clothing and in the final scene all in white. Danny Steinmann directs. The best man started his career in the seventies making porn. In Savage Streets he is certainly not shy about depicting breasts and buttocks extensively. Symptomatic is the rather long zoom on Linda Blair in the bath, in full regalia, and very superfluous in the story.

It really is a trashy film that has now acquired a cult reputation. That's also why I watched it. And yes, I actually find him very entertaining.
