Julie writes a long love letter in an otherwise empty room. Over a period of many weeks she sometimes shifts her mattress and lives on a bag of sugar. She grows increasingly frustrated with the contents of the letter. She hitchhikes along the Brussels highway where she is picked up by a truck driver. They drink and dine at highway restaurants, and she passively attends to his sexual needs. They break up in a public bathroom.
