Through a series of misunderstandings, Alvin, Simon and Theodore are convinced that Dave is going to propose to his new girlfriend in New York... and drop them. They have three days to come to New York and make Dave change his mind. This not only prevents them from losing their friend but also from getting a terrible stepbrother.

Tiring movie....same goes for the actors.
Not surprising or funny at all......I regularly go to the cinema with my son, but we could have skipped this one, although the little one thought it was funny 
CGI with real images doesn't work with films for children, I think so...but hey, there are people who think it's fantastic

Is it just me or was this movie a disappointment? Maybe I've seen too many movies with this format and Road Chip just isn't innovative enough within the format to be really special. It's fun in itself, and I did laugh a bit, but it certainly wasn't special, and I'm very glad I didn't go to the cinema especially for this. However, I can definitely recommend this movie to young children, they will undoubtedly enjoy it immensely.

Dave [Jason Lee] travels to Miami for Ashley Grey's [Bella Thorne] album launch. However, Alvin [Justin Long], Simon [Matthew Gray Gubler] and Theodore [Jesse McCartney] fear that Dave will abandon them by proposing to Samantha [Kimberly Williams-Paisley]. They convince Samantha's son [Josh Green] to take them to Miami to stop the engagement. Along the way, they run afoul of Air Marshall James Sugges [Tony Hale] and after a forced emergency landing, they continue their journey overland. More of the same nonsense filled with childish humor and hopeless overacting, especially from the obnoxious Hale. Cameos by John Waters and Redfoo (who plugs his new dance gear).
