Scary Movie plot

"No mercy. No shame. No sequel."

One Halloween night, Cindy Campbell and five friends accidentally run into a man. They decide to keep the accident a secret, but a year later the six are chased by a masked serial killer, who wants to play cruel games with them. It starts with the brutal murder of Drew Decker and it doesn't take long for the killer to go after Cindy and the rest. These will do anything to survive, but the killer doesn't give up easily; he has quite a lot of knowledge in the field of horror films.

Ouch.

Actually expected a different kind of movie. As a spoof on horror flicks, this just doesn't make sense. It takes on some plot lines, some characters, and some signature scenes... but the humor itself rarely has anything to do with the movies they "parody".

Scary Movie is nothing more than a collection of sex and blow jokes, but of the very banal kind. It's rarely funny, it's more the fact that it's about sex and smoking that should be funny. That's really something that most don't grow after their 13th or 14th, a late bloomer maybe at 16.

As a film, it is also 3 times nothing. Boring acting, broke shot, cheap looking. It is not much better than an amateurish-looking YouTube production in 2016. Throughout the movie there were maybe two jokes (not even scenes) that could count on a smile, the rest I mostly looked at in disbelief.

Rarely seen such an unfunny misfire.

0.5*

What a classic this remains. Really don't understand how you can watch this movie without laughing. Been here when I was a little younger really completely broken every time. After reviewing it after 5 years I admit my previous rating of 5* was a bit over-enthusiastic, but still believe this is the parody of parodyes that will never be beaten again! 4.0*

Saw it again a long time ago and it was wrong to start this with my 9 year old daughter which got her to do something else. Still, a little too many sex jokes and innuendo passed in review. I had missed that for a while. She didn't like him either (and even scary), well, can I get on with that opening scene...

Very bland, of course, but what I have always found clever is the creativity in playfully interweaving all those various films into one whole. Not everything is equally successful, but it is nice to discover all those references in films.

You can say that the cast is enthusiastic. OK jokes are interspersed with vicarious shame, but you can't do good for everyone of course.
