Joan Crawford was incredibly scary, and the ending was astonishing and very unexpected. Four well-deserved stars. For car enthusiasts: A beautiful FIAT 600 with rear-hinged doors also plays a starring role in this thrilling film, and the funny little car appears frequently.

Excellent acting by Joan Crawford and especially Diane Baker, who elevate this film with their convincing performances. The story is well-constructed, albeit with few sensational horror elements, but the performance of the two women keeps it captivating until the very end. Perhaps not so surprising given the climax at the end, as the viewer quickly grasps the truth of the matter, though there's still a sense of guesswork, as Crawford leaves you wondering towards the end. It's a shame, however, that the climax is rushed off a bit, as you had the feeling there was more to come. 7/10
