It's in the Water plot

Alex, the daughter of wealthy parents, volunteers at an AIDS clinic, the Hope House. The clinic has recently been established in Azalea Springs, Texas, and the homophobic residents are very much against it. Alex is nicely married, but when she meets Nurse Grace, an old school friend, she falls in love with her. Spencer, a friend of Alex, is in a relationship with Bruce. Bruce has AIDS and is in the clinic. Mark, a journalist at the local newspaper, follows the 'Brother Daniel's turn or burn homono-mo meetings'. At one of the meetings he meets Thomas and falls in love. This strengthens him in his decision to admit his sexuality.
