Ridiculous.

I knew beforehand that I wouldn't like this very much, but with horror in the genre, I'm willing to give it a try. Unfortunately, I shouldn't have done that here, but that was only after the kidnapping, because the first part is quite strong.

Much more interesting in the first half, but the film quickly collapses, becomes dull, and completely lacks the tension it needs. The director seems to focus more on the visuals, which doesn't really help the film.

Rapace's performance is poor; the scenes between her and her son are awkward, and she comes across as more of a lunatic than someone eager to survive. Moreover, the level of implausibility is sometimes so high that it becomes more of a comedic effect.

After the umpteenth dialogue of "can I see my son again?" and "please let me go," I'd had enough. It's not exciting at all, rather ridiculous, and lacks emotion. There are some nice camerawork, though, especially in the shafts. Otherwise, it's a very mediocre film that everyone should skip.

An unpleasant thriller with a science fiction slant, cheap-looking and poorly acted. The plot is initially quite intriguing, but quickly descends into dull, repetitive situations. The characters and dialogue also lack substance. In short, a disappointment from director Steven Shainberg, whose career once got off to a promising start with Secretary (2002). In retrospect, that turns out to be a fluke.
